Sweet Williams make excellent cut flowers and will last long if the water is regularly given. They will bloom throughout the spring if spent blooms are picked off regularly. This is a biennial plant grown as an annual. Sweet William is closely related to ‘Pinks’ (Dianthus). The plant is erect with double or single fragrant flowers borne at the apex of the branches in rounded clusters.
